Executive AI Advisory

Independent answers for the people accountable for the AI strategy — briefings, written assessments, and ongoing advisory without the vendor spin.

The hardest part of this technology for a leadership team is not technical. It is that almost all the available information comes from people selling something.

I work with CTOs, VPs of Engineering and executive teams who need an independent read: what AI assistants realistically do for a software organisation, what they cost in practice, and which of the promises being made to you will not survive contact with your codebase.

I have nothing to upsell you into. I don’t resell tooling, I take no vendor commissions, and the recommendation is sometimes that you are already doing enough.

Typical questions I get asked

  • We have spent a year on this. Why can’t anyone tell me what we got?
  • Our competitors claim enormous productivity gains. Are they lying?
  • What do we owe our engineers about how this changes their work?
  • Which parts of this should we build, and which should we simply buy?
  • The board wants a number by Q3. What can I honestly commit to?

Pricing

Executive briefing — €4,500

A half-day session for up to twelve people. The state of the technology, what the maturity levels mean for your organisation, and a hard-questions block that is usually the most valuable part. Tailored from a short intake beforehand.

Strategy review — €7,500

A written independent assessment of your current plan. I review what you have, interview the people carrying it, and deliver a document you can put in front of a board — including the parts you may not want to hear. Typically two to three weeks.

Fractional advisory — €5,000 per month

Roughly two days a month of my time, plus availability between them for the decisions that will not wait. Three-month minimum, because a single month of advisory becomes unpaid on-call for both of us and helps nobody.

Priced above my implementation day rate deliberately: you are buying judgment and availability, not delivery hours.

Leadership coaching — €500 per session

One-to-one work with engineering leaders, usually fortnightly. €2,700 for a block of six, which is roughly where this work starts to compound.

All prices exclude VAT. Travel within the Netherlands is included; elsewhere it is billed at cost.

A note on coaching

For engineering leaders personally navigating this — teams anxious about their roles, a board expecting numbers, and genuine private uncertainty about the right call — I work as a coach rather than a consultant. Same subject matter, different posture: I am not there to produce a recommendation, I am there to help you reach your own and stress-test it honestly.

Let's scope it

A 30-minute call is usually enough to tell whether this is the right fit. No pitch.
